CWB, Canadian Welding Bureau Certification Granted
Updated: 2014-1-23
Eternal Sun Steel Mast (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China, has been certified in Division 3 under CSA Standard W47.1 "Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel". Product scope: Utility poles, lighting poles, high masts, sports lighting poles, telecommunication monopoles and general steel fabricated products for the Canadian market.

"Eternal Sun Steel Mast has become one of the few Chinese steel pole manufacturers who has been granted various international certifications: CE/EN40, AWS and now the CWB.” said Rupert Yang, VP, sales and marketing. Yang also mentioned “CWB certification is the most strict, comprehensive and tough application process to Chinese companies as the local welders, engineers and inspectors were required to undertake tests and interviews supervised by foreign (CWB) examiners. Eternal Sun’s steel pole and structural products have been well recognised on its welding quality, reliability and company’s serviceability by our valued clients worldwide. The different international standards and certifications granted also marked Eternal Sun’s capability on providing quality products with GLOCAL compliance.”

A selective of eight Eternal Sun’s welders have been granted “certified welders” under the category of SAW and GMAW. As CWB certified company, Eternal Sun is also able to participate in the CWB’s QualityMark program. This program will provide with a unique QualityMark logo and company identifier. It also includes a “QR” code, that will enable the clients to scan this QR code on their smart phone and immediately connect them to an overview of the company’s certification and contact information.

The CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) was formed in 1947 to administer the then, new W47.1 welding standard for structural steel. The CWB has today expanded its scope well beyond the original structural steel roots and is accredited by and operates under the authority of the Standards Council of Canada as a Certification Body for the administration of CSA Standards including W47.1, W47.2, W55.3, W186, W178.1 and W48 to industries across Canada and internationally.
